General

Why are daily and monthly data only available to a limited extent?
Most data are issued on a quarterly or annual basis, Only monetary data (monthly) and financial market information (daily) are issued more frequently.

What is the purpose of the Category filter?
It refers to the specific category for which we collected the data.

  • Macroeconomics: financial market variables, financial sector statistics and balance of payments statistics .
  • Monetary: data on credit institutions and other financial institutions that are relevant to monetary policy.
  • Supervision: aggregated data collected for purposes of supervision of financial institutions.
  • Other: statutory interest rates, register information on the numbers of banks, insurers and pension funds that are under supervision.
Banks

Where can I find information on DNB's deposit facility?
The deposit facility can be found under loans and deposits to euro area residents and the MFI sector (column 18) in DNB's monthly balance sheet.

Where can I find a list of all registered monetary financial institutions (MFIs)?
All institutions registered by DNB can be found on our Open Book on Supervision webpages.

Where can I find information on mortgage loans provided by MFIs?

Where can I find information about individual banks?

Not all individual Dutch banks are presented in the overview ‘Financial data of individual banks’. What’s the reason of that?

DNB is publishing the figures of those banks only which have approved with the publication of their figures on the DNB website.

Where can I find information on the money supply (M1, M2 and M3)?
You can find information on the money supply here:

  • M1 = column 8 -/- column 7 (money in circulation) + column 1 (overnight deposits).
  • M2 = M1 + column 2 (deposits with agreed maturity of up to 2 years) + column 3 (deposits redeemable at notice of up to 3 months).
  • M3 = column 8.

Financial markets and interest rates

Where can I find data on government bond yields?
This information can be found in the Market interest rates table. The Dutch State Treasury Agency has information on central government loans.

What is the interest rate term structure or yield curve?
The IRTS is constructed on the basis of the swap curve. It is used to determine the actual value of pension liabilities. You can find the relevant data in the IRTS for pension funds table. Please refer to our Open Book on Supervision website for more information.

What methodology does DNB apply in calculating the yield curve?
The methodology is described in the "Method for establishing the interest rate term structure under the FTK" document.

Where can I find the euro area yield curve?
The euro area yield curve can be found on the ECB's website.

Where can I find information on historical capital market rates?
You can find them here. Historical information about money and capital market rates can be found in the Dutch-language Statistics Netherlands publication "Tweehonderd jaar statistiek in tijdreeksen, 1800-1999" (page 101).

From which moment did DNB keep time series of indices of Dutch equities?
From 1982. You can find this information here.

Where can I find data on financial institution ratings?
DNB is not a rating agency, please consult the relevant rating agencies.

What does Euribor mean, and where can I find the Euribor rates?
The Euro interbank offered rate is the average interest rate (excluding the highest and lowest values) against which a selection of euro area banks are willing to extend interbank loans in euros. Euribor rates are available here:

Where can I find the gold price?
You can look up the gold price here:. This is the price for 1 kg of fine (pure) gold.

Insurers

Are the annual reports and individual information of insurers publicly available?
Yes, insurers must publicly disclose their annual reports, annual accounts and any additional information on profit-sharing schemes. DNB also publishes general and individual information about insurers.

Where can I find a list of all registered insurers?

Do you have information available on health care insurers from the period before 2006?
No, we do not have this information available.

Where can I find data on the gross domestic product (GDP)?
Data on the GDP are available from Statistics Netherlands.

Where can I find information on house price developments?
You can find this on our financial stability indicators page:
More data on house prices are available from Statistics Netherlands, the Land Registry (Kadaster) and the Dutch real estate agents association, NVM.

Where can I find data on inflation?
Data on inflation in the Netherlands are available from Statistics Netherlands.Data on inflation in Europe are available from Eurostat and the ECB.

Where can I find data on the public debt of the Netherlands?
Information on the Dutch sovereign debt is available from the Ministry of Finance, Statistics Netherlands and the Dutch State Treasury Agency.

Monetary policy and exchange rates

Where can I find the ECB's refinancing rate?
You can find it here.

What is the ECB's refinancing rate?
This is the minimum rate that applies to main refinancing operations. It is determined by the Governing Council of the ECB.

Where can I find the discount on promissory notes?
You can find it in the ECB's Interest Rates table and in DNB's Official interest rates table (1989-1998).

Where can I find information on DNB's refinancing operations?
This can be found in the balance sheet of De Nederlandsche Bank (monetary presentation), under loans and deposits to euro area residents and the MFI sector (column 1).

Where can I find euro exchange rates?
Every day at 2:15 p.m., the ECB publishes the euro reference exchange rates on its website. DNB publishes these rates before 10:00 a.m. on the next business day.Here you can find the daily, quarterly, monthly and annual exchange rates for the main foreign currencies.
